Pumpkin Patch

HI!!! My baby is almost 11 months old - what?!?  We have been very busy over here with welcoming, adjusting to, and entertaining Mr. Cutie.  I hope to give a quick blog on his arrival into this great big world soon...but who knows.  I haven't written in almost 1 year ( oops! ), so it might take me a while to get back into the groove.  I still also need to give a renovation update including: Master Bathroom, Hall Bathroom, Guest Room, Play Room...sheesh.  I will get to that one day.  For now, Pumpkin Patch! Y'all, I don't think Mr. Cutie has ever been in grass before, and today he was crawling around in it like it was his favorite thing!  Well, the grass and the dirt which he was eating.  So fun.  The friends I went with all had girls, and for the most part they just sat and looked pretty.  Cooper was all over the place and it took me 238 pictures ( yes, you read that right ) to get like 10 acceptable pictures.  It was a gorgeou...

"Relentless"

I don't know about you, but English was not my strong suit growing up.  It's weird because I used to be a pretty good writer, and I communicate my feelings best by writing them down.  That said, every once in a while I get a word or phrase stuck in my brain and I have to do a word study ( of sorts ) to better understand what is being meant/said/relayed. Lately, one of my favorite worship songs is " Relentless " by Hillsong United.  The words of the chorus are what made me curious, or stuck in my brain enough, that I had to do a Jordan-style word study.  The chorus goes as follows:   "You carry us - when the world gives way. You cover us - with Your endless grace. Your love is relentless. " Relentless . From  dictionary.com : "a djective : unyieldingly severe, strict, or harsh;  unrelenting."   Synonyms: rigid, unbending, obdurate,  adamant, unyielding.   From  Merriam-Webster : "continuing without becoming we...

Summer Television...are you in?

OK, so admittedly we probably watch too much TV.  ( Please don't judge! )  But Summer TV?  The best, in my opinion.  I have to go ahead and say, the USA channel has some of the best original series' ever!  I've listed below the shows that we love watching together, and this day-in-age if we both like a show it's rare. Covert Affairs - From the creator of the Bourne movies (which we have seen a zillion and a half times), this show is great!  It's an action packed hour about a female spy (go girl!) who is strong-willed and knows how to get things done.  But it's not just for the girls!  Hubby like it, too. Graceland - This is a new series this year.  It stars one of the guys from Les Miserables , Aaron Tveit, so naturally, I'm in.  Though he's not singing in this show, it is a fun new show about several different government agencies (FBI, CIA, DEA...) that have undercover agents living under one roof in California...definitely an in...

Weekend Roundup: Memorial Day Style

Hello again!  I hope everyone's Memorial Day holiday was nice and relaxing, and that we all made a point to remember the true reason for the holiday.  :) *I should make a quick note about the different service holidays.  People that mix them up are confused and sometimes ignorant.  Don't get me wrong, I love thanking those serving (and their families as they give up a lot, too), but as long as we have specific holidays, let's try and keep them separate.  We wouldn't celebrate Easter and Christmas at the same time just because they are both about Jesus. Memorial Day: Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Veterans Day: A day which honors people who have served in armed service (also known as veterans). Armed Forces Day:  A  holiday for citizens to thank our (currently serving) military members for their patriotic service in support of our country. (...

Uploads soon!

My apologies for the blog neglect!  ( I seem to be saying that a lot lately, huh? )  I just started a new job ( more to come on that at a later date ) and have had several other things going on...and have just been so tired.  Honest!  I am currently editing my photos from my totes adorbs nephew's 3rd birthday party.  Until I get those posted ( sometime this weekend ), find yourself encouraged through all the tragedy rocking our nation lately ( love and prayers to Boston, Mass and West, TX ).  We serve a loving God whose heart, too, is breaking. God is good - all the time. All the time - God is good. Happy Friday! And check back soon for some cute pics of 3 year old! :):)

Life Happens

Whew!  I'm back!  Please excuse my absence...I have been abnormally busy these past few weeks, and since I'm not a great 'regular blogger' anyway, it's taken me a while to get back into the swing of things! So, to catch you up on life, here is a really quick update! New Apartment/New Part of Town We have moved!  Why?  We are going to start house-hunting here in a few months (woohoo!).  Basically, in order for us to afford a house in Houston in a good/safe neighborhood, a good school district, and a good location for Hubby's work, we would have to be rich!  I know, sounds like a #firstworldproblem. We previously lived in a ~990sq ft apartment in Houston.  (see pic below)  It really was a great apartment with great amenities and in a good location for life (church, going out to eat, shopping, etc), just not ideal traffic-wise for Hubby's job.  We loved our 2 years there.  I'll get the hang of my panoramic view one day! Check out...

Monday Ramblings...

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I last posted!  In between packing up the apartment for our move later this month and work and birthdays, I have been really busy and super tired.  And I really don't have an organized thought for this post...so roll with me.  I'm just going to ramble...   1)  I just think my nieces and nephews are the cutest things alive .  They can throw a huge fit, drool all over me, or coo and smile at me - just about anything - and I eat it up!  Love it.   2)  I had my feelings really hurt this weekend.  I won't go into much detail, but I just want to say - it really sucks to be left out and feel all alone in a group you have been in a part of for a while.  It might seem silly to some, but we all have things that make us feel insufficient, right?  This was mine.   3)  I am getting slightly anxoius about our impending move....
