How Can I Help?

It has been several days since the elementary school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and I know our nation is steel reeling from this attack.  I am not a mom or a teacher, I did not know any of the victims, I did not know the shooter.  Still, I was surprised at how this news affected me.  It is incredibly sad to me that tragedies like this happen.  It is incredibly sad that the shooter (in this case, in Columbine's case, in any other case...) feels like his rampage is a good decision.  Whether or not you are a proponent of teachers carrying guns and children being locked down at school everyday...be pro-prayer .  In my opinion, our nation is in a fragile state, in every facet imaginable.  We need to be prayer warriors for America.  For our leaders.  For our children.  For our future.  I receive a daily devotional from the Proverbs 31 ministry.  The one that was sent today offers a new perspective on how w...

Right now I love...

Right now I dig / love / need / enjoy... ... the sunshine - it comes directly through my window at work in the afternoon for about 2 hours, and that makes me happy. ... sweet tea - I am southern, so this comes as naturally as saying "y'all" and "fixin' to".  I had some Chik-Fil-A tea for lunch today, a welcome treat! ... lighter traffic - a lot of people are taking off this week because of the holidays, and that is making my commute better!  Thank you, peeps, for being off the road, you are greatly helping my road rage. ... Christmas lights - don't they just make you smile!?  LOVE them!  we only have them on our (teeny tiny) tree, but I still love them!  (iPhone pic, sorry!) ... house-hunting - well, sort of.  I love looking on HAR.com and Zillow.com dreaming of having a house of our very own!  (soon!) ... morning walks with LB - normally, I hate these because they ruin my hair (such a girl, right?), but now that the weather is cooler ...

This week in iPhone pics

Hello friends!  TGIF!  Man, this week has been a long week...and I don't even know why!  I had to literally roll myself off of the bed this morning to wake up. *thud!* hello, floor.  hello, Friday.  My first thought?  'I get to sleep in tomorrow!'  My second thought?  'Why the heck did I just roll out of bed 3 feet to the floor?  Ugh.  Coffee.'  I'm pretty sure LadyBug rolled her eyes at me and told me not to be so dramatic. That being said, I'll give a quick round up of this week in an Instagram photo!  (These are iPhone pics - excuse the quality!) 1:: New Perfume from Anthropologie !  I love me a new scent! 2:: Hubby found this beauty in my tire this weekend...awesome!  I'm glad he fixed it for me...one of a zillion reasons I'm glad he's so handy. 3:: LB was ready for the Texans game...too bad we got smoked! (But since it was by Tom Brady, that eases the blow.  Hehe.)  Maybe this weekend, boys!...

Friday's Letters

So, I have started following Ashely over at Adventures of Newlyweds .  She is a believer, hilarious, and talented!  No, I'm not creepy.  I just read her blog faithfully and therefore know a lot about her.  Ok, maybe I am creepy?  She does a segment called 'Friday's Letters', and I'm going to (try to remember to) join in on the fun!  And since I can't figure that whole button thing out, a link to her blog will have to do! *Me and Hubby on my 27th Birthday.  Isn't he handsome?* Dear November:   What the heck?  Where did you go?  And why were you so busy?  It's now 18 days until Christmas and I'm still trying to use the excuse "But it's my birthday month!"  * Sigh * Until next year.  Dear Texas:   It is December 7th, Christmas season is in full swing, and you are 80 degrees outside today?  Let's get it together, I want to wear my boots and I want my hair to cooperate!  kthanks.  Dear Pandor...
