On this lovely overcast Sunday morning both W and I are sick.  I have been fighting this since Tuesday, and W just started feeling poorly yesterday.  So, naturally, we are lying low today and resting on this 3 day weekend. While I was lying on the couch watching an NCIS marathon ( the best ) I was looking through my Bloglovin' app and catching up on the blogs that I follow when it occurred to me - I need to post something new on my blog!  Then I looked, and wowie - I haven't update my blog since April! ( but let's be honest...am I the only one that reads this? ) We have had a lot  going on, and to tell you the truth, I honestly haven't even thought about my blog.  Let me clue you in.  In May, we bought our first house, went to Hawaii for our 5 year wedding anniversary, and and soon as we got back started renovations on our house.  Every second that I'm not at work I am painting, cleaning, or at Lowe's - I am sleeping.  This is an exhaustin...

Just about a month ago we went on our annual beach trip!  We went for the second year in a row to Seacrest Beach, FL (it ends up being about 45 minutes East of Destin).  We love it there!  We rented another cute house just off the beach (about 100 steps to the beach) and enjoyed our week's stay.  If only the weather had cooperated.  It as 70*, overcast and wiiiinnnddyyy.    I know!  Unless you are from the South, 70* doesn't sound bad - but it made it to where we only had about 1 full day of sun on the beach.  Not exactly what you want when you are there to soak up some sun, enjoy the waves and relax.  Needless to say, I got caught up on some reading, TV shows and napping.  It was nice to just be away.  Better weather next year! Dear April:   Yay!  You are here!  You are going to be a fun and busy month.  New job, Hubby traveling, nephew's birthday, NEEDTOBREATHE concert and....THE BEACH! Dear Beach Vacay:   The countdown in ON !  We are so excited to be headed your way again this year.  Now, weather, don't let us down! Dear Hubby:   I have not properly thanked you (on my blog, which I'm pretty sure you don't read!) for being such a great mover!  We moved in a record amount of time thanks to your planning...and muscles!  So, thank you!  You rock. Dear Weather:   You are confusing both me and my allergies.  40 degrees and 75 degrees in the same day?  Then rain?  Then super hot and muggy?  Ugh....

this weekend, instead of being boring and staying in, we decided to go downtown and enjoy the sights. here are a few pics of the pretty night... us with the sunset in the background... pretty sunset over the mighty mississippi... off the pier into the sunset...
