Bowling House Renovation: Master Bathroom

This post is a long time coming and I actually plan to let the picture do most of the 'talking'.  Our bathroom has been finished for almost a year ( oops ) and I'm just now getting around to posting it.  #sorrynotsorry Life gets busy. I will, however, start by saying the master bath before our reno was small, closed off, had a funky, musty 'old' smell, and was just plain...well, GROSS.   That said, we were extra happy to get our hands on it and open it up us much as we could without moving walls and make it more modern/functional. A few notes: -We chose to do a single vanity because a double sink would have just been WAY too tight and would have been a misuse of space. -We will eventually add a storage ccabinet over the toilet that matches the vanity. -We have another bathroom that we were able to use during this reno, so yes, we were clean (or partially clean) throughout the process ;) BEFORE: (c ue the scrunched-up-in-disgust-faces and th...

Nursery 'Reveal'!

Hi All! I can't believe my due date is just 11 days away!  We are so ready to meet this little fellow (and I'm so ready to feel 'normal' again, though that may take a while).  For now, I am keeping myself busy by what I think is what they call nesting.   For all I know W may just have been praying extra hard that I would clean the house and keep up with the laundry before baby.  ;) OK, on to the reason you clicked over...to see the nursery!  It has been a labor of love and has pushed my creativity (see previous post ), but we are so happy with the way it has turned out!  As of now, it is about 90% complete (I still need to paint the double doors [ they are an ugly yellow ] and install blinds and we still need to install the closet doors).  BUT -- all of that can be done later.  I finished the most important parts (to me), and we have all of the necessities to begin life as a family of 3. So, here is a tour of our nursery!  ( Side ...

Bowling House Renovation: DIY artwork

Hi all!  I want to share with you my latest DIY project - a piece of "artwork" ( if you will ) to hang over our office space in our 3rd bedroom. I love to decorate.  Like, love  to decorate.  I also love to craft.  These 2 hobbies came in to play during this project, and I could not be happier with the results.   When you are renovating on a budget sometimes you can't have that cool piece of art that you want, or you have to settle for the lamp from Marshall's and not the designer lamp you love.  That's ok!  (I happen to really love Marshall's and Homegoods!)  You just have to know what style you're going for and the rest is simple.  What I do is look for inspiration - whether that be on Pinterest, browsing online, or window shopping.  I am always on the look out for something to inspire me, something that I can say " Hey - I can do that...maybe better! "  Hence this project.  I was browsing through WorldMarket a few m...
