Happy 2015! I hope your holidays were joyful, laughter-full, and restful. We spent Thanksgiving with W's family and Christmas with my family. We had a great holiday season, but seemingly did not take many pictures. Here is a pic of us after Christmas Eve service at church.

| Merry Christmas! |
As we continue to re-do our house, I thought it would be time to update you on our progress, highlighting the master bedroom ceiling!
Our house was built in the 1970's and the ceiling textures definitely reflect that time. Not to mention the previous owner had everything painted the same awful yellowish-white. I'm talking ceiling, walls, trim, doors...you name it, it was yellowish-white. We wanted to do something cool to our master ceiling because it is vaulted. We searched Pinterest, Houzz, magazines, and our own brains and came up with an idea to do a tongue and groove type ceiling treatment. After a good deal of research, we decided that pine tongue and groove boards were our best best for the ceiling.
Warren did a ton of work to level the ceiling (including furring strips and chalk lines). I am so thankful he is such a hard worker. Seriously, y'all. This was a lot of work - shout out to my mom and dad for priming a zillion boards with me! But we could not be happier with the result. The ceiling looks A.MAZ.ING! We even like it so much we are planning on doing the same thing in the living room!
Here are some before, during, and after shots. Enjoy!
BEFORE:
 |
| Gross yellowish-white ceiling |
 |
| Boards lined up for priming! |
DURING:
 |
| Furring strips up, first row of boards attached |
 |
| W hard at work! |
 |
| First side - all boards up! |
 |
Boards going up on side 2. The silver stuff is radiant heat barrier - we think this side is barely insulated in the attic (can't get there in the attic to see), so this will help with insulating. |
 |
After the edge boards and middle planks added - W is painting. Painting was a chore, especially at an angle, but the finished product is worth it! |
AFTER:
 |
| Finished! |

We LOVE it!
So there you have it! Our master ceiling. It looks very impressive in person, too :)
We are currently working on our master bathroom...then our master suite will be finished! Can't wait to show you more final products! :)
